How to make the most of Election Day
Virginia and Maryland are both hosting elections today, which means it's time to hit the polls! Here's what you need to know before leaving to cast your vote.
In Virginia:
Voting in the Virginia General Election begins at 6 a.m. and concludes at 7 p.m. Anyone in line at 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote. Voters can find their local polling place at Virginia.gov.
All voters in Virginia are required to present a photo ID before voting. Acceptable forms of identification are listed on the state's website.

In Maryland:
Maryland's General Election is not until 2016, but voters can cast ballots today for the Bowie, Salisbury, College Park, Laurel and Rockville Mayoral elections and some other local offices.
Voting begins at 7 a.m. and concludes at 8 p.m. Every voter may take two hours off work so long as the employee does not have two hours of continuous off-duty during the time polls are open.
Some first-time voters will be asked to show ID before voting. Acceptable forms of ID include a copy of a current photo ID or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government documentation showing your name and address.
