HONOR & COURAGE! DC's newest eaglets get their names after vote

The results are in! The names for D.C.'s newest eaglets have been chosen.

Officials with the Earth Conservation Corps announced that the new name for eaglet ECC3 will be 'Honor.' The announcement came at a special program held on Friday morning at Antietam Elementary School in Woodbridge. 'Courage' was chosen as the name for the second eaglet ECC4. A second program at Bren Mar Park Elementary School in Springfield will be held later this afternoon.

Over 121 classrooms participated in the contest with over 250 names being submitted. 6,000 votes were cast in the naming contest.

The two eaglets came from eggs that were laid by eagle parents Liberty and Justice. They hatched in March high above the D.C. Police Academy in the Southeast.
