A ground stop was lifted at Ronald Reagan National Airport Tuesday evening, though delays are expected to continue through the night.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued the ground stop between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a security-related event.

The event was listed as "VIP," which could indicate a presidential movement, a visiting foreign dignitary or another security incident.

According to the FAA website, flights coming into DCA are facing a nearly two-hour delay. A total of 303 flights were delayed and 118 were canceled.
