Firefighters take in 2 dogs found in freezing cold

Prince George's County firefighters took in two dogs that had left out in the freezing cold.

The dogs were found Tuesday in the 10500 block of Rhode Island Avenue in Beltsville.

One of the dogs appears to be the mom and the other her 6-8 week old puppy.

The dogs were cared for overnight by firefighters at the Branchville Fire Department. Neither dog was wearing a collar when found.

The mother dog was taken to the Greenbelt Animal Shelter. A Prince George's dispatcher claimed the puppy and said it would later be adopted.

Officials are asking anyone with information about the missing dogs to call the Branchville Fire Department at 301-883-7711 or Prince George's County Animal Management Division at 301-780-7201.
