Fairfax County police looking to identify Peeping Tom suspect
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Fairfax County police are asking for the public's help to identify a peeping tom seen on camera outside of a house in Alexandria.
A woman was in the living room of their home in the 3500 block of South George Mason Drive when she received an alert from their family's smartphone home security app that there was a possible intruder outside at around 10:08 p.m. Monday.
A man was seen on surveillance video walking right up to the home peering into the windows and doors. Police also said he also may have been touching himself inappropriately.
"When my wife got the alert, I was upstairs," said the woman's husband. "She was pretty terrified sitting on the couch watching the perpetrator do whatever he was trying to do. Obviously, I'm thankful for having the security cameras. I don't think it was someone looking to get their jollies or anything. I think it was someone that was either casing or looking for an opportunity. Bottom line, she is still affected by it. I am still affected by it and it's something to all of our neighbors around here to be cognizant of."
This happened in an area along the border between Alexandria and Arlington nearby Wakefield High School.
The suspect is described as black male between 30 to 39 years old. He stood about 5'10" tall, weighing between 200 to 210 pounds and was wearing a black shirt, light colored pants and a baseball hat.
