Elementary school student found with airsoft gun in backpack: deputies

NANJEMOY, Md. - Authorities say an airsoft gun was found in the backpack of a Maryland elementary school student Wednesday.

Deputies say administrators made the discovery at Mt. Hope Nanjemoy Elementary School around 3:10 p.m. after they were alerted to the situation.

The student cannot be charged due to their age.

The student will face disciplinary action from the Charles County Public Schools. No injuries were reported.
