DC posts 'late note' for fans running behind to work morning after Capitals win Stanley Cup
WASHINGTON - If you're running late to work because you were out all night celebrating the Washington Capitals and their victory in the Stanley Cup finals, D.C.'s deputy mayor has got you covered!
Deputy Mayor Kevin Donahue tweeted out a "late note excuse" early Friday morning to help ease things over with your boss.
It reads, "Dear Employer, please excuse "your name here" for being late to work today. Due to the #ALLCAPS victory last night-your valued employee was Rocking the Red and being DCProud well past a reasonable hour. This was a one time lateness and won't happened again. Sincerely, The DC Government."
Don't worry about the parade next week either! Donahue finishes the note by saying, "P.S. - Your employee will also be taking a sick day next week for the victory parade."
