DC police ID wanted man spotted in tactical vest
WASHINGTON - Authorities are looking for a suspicious man they say was spotted Thursday night in different parts of the District wearing a tactical vest.
If you see Moises Alexander Delcid, do not take any action. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
He's wanted on a probation violation.
Officers tell FOX 5 that they received two calls from witnesses who spotted the man. One witness told officers that the man pointed a gun at them in the area of the 900 block of Rhode Island Avenue in the Northeast.
Police say the witness described the man as Middle Eastern or Asian and said he was armed with a gun and wearing a bulletproof vest.
Investigators another witness said they spotted the man in the area of a Shell gas station in the 1900 block of Rhode Island Avenue in the Northeast. Police said they were told the man had a rifle tucked into his vest and he was on his cellphone with someone in a heated conversation that alternated from English to a foreign language. Police were told the man put gas in his black moped and left the gas station.
Authorities say they were able to locate the man on New York Avenue but he fled down Queens Chapel Road and officers did not pursue.
At this time, investigators said they have no evidence to suggest the man was in possession of a firearm.
Anyone with information that could aid detectives in their investigation was urged to call police at (202)727-9099.
