DC firefighter arrested for illegally riding ATV

A D.C. firefighter was arrested for illegally riding an all-terrain vehicle in the District over the weekend.

Dearay Anthony Wilson has been a firefighter with D.C. Fire and EMS for just over a year working out of Engine 33 in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Southeast D.C.

According to a police report, an officer saw Wilson crash an ATV into another vehicle on 7th Street near H Street in Chinatown on Sunday.

The 22-year-old firefighter is facing a charge of operation of all-terrain vehicle in public space.

Wilson has been placed on leave following his arrest.

In addition to Wilson, D.C. police also arrested 24-year-old Maxwell Patton Jr. of Cheverly, Maryland, and 27-year-old Dwayne Eugene Corley of Southeast D.C. for illegally riding an ATV or dirt bike.

D.C. police have also released more photos Wednesday asking for help tracking down people who were riding ATVs and dirt bikes illegally across parts of the city on Sunday.

Police are offering a $250 reward to help identify these riders.
