Comcast opens up free WiFi hotspots to non-customers during Hurricane Florence

WASHINGTON - Comcast has opened up its Xfinity WiFi hotspots throughout the D.C. region along with parts of Delaware and West Virginia to help those being affected by Hurricane Florence.

This week, more than 120,000 hot spots were opened, which can be accessed by non-Xfinity customers. Comcast is aiming to help residents, businesses and emergency personnel stay connected during the storm and the ensuing recovery period after Florence hits.

Here is how users can access the WiFi hotspots:

"For a map of Xfinity WiFi hotspots, please visit https://comca.st/2CJrmqD. Once in range of a hotspot, select the 'xfinitywifi' network name in the list of available hotspots and then launch a browser. Xfinity Internet customers can sign in with their username and password and will be automatically connected to Xfinity WiFi hotspots in the future. Non-Xfinity Internet customers should visit the 'Not an Xfinity Internet Customer' section on the sign-in page to get started. Non-customers will be able to renew their complimentary sessions every two hours."
