Carjacking, police pursuit ends in crash

WASHINGTON - A police pursuit that began in Montgomery County has ended in a crash in the District.

The pursuit began around 10:30 p.m. Monday following a carjacking in Silver Spring. Officers followed the vehicle to an area near Benning Road and Minnesota Avenue in southeast D.C. where the suspects crashed into a light pole.

The victim of the carjacking was not injured.

Investigators say the suspects were armed but did not say with what type of weapon.

Officers took two occupants of the vehicle into custody following the crash.
