30 treated, six sent to hospital over heat-related issues following DC prayer event

WASHINGTON - Six people were transported to the hospital and 30 others treated for heat exposure after a prayer event in Washington.

This happened Saturday at a House of Prayer event at the intersection of 7th and M Streets in Northwest. DC Fire and EMS arrived on the scene just after 3 p.m. and treated multiple people for heat and humidity-related illnesses.

None of the illnesses were life-threatening and police tweeted that the incident was winding down at around 3:40 p.m.
