14th Street suspects attempt to rob DC woman (VIDEO)

WASHINGTON - DC police have released frightening surveillance video of two suspects attempting to rob a woman near 14th Street.

Authorities said the attempted theft happened in the 1400 block of R Street, NW at about 4:15 a.m. on Aug. 12.

The victim was walking westbound on the sidewalk when she was approached by two men, according to officials.
One suspect attempted to grab the woman's purse, but she held onto it and ran away, police stated.

The incident happened just one block away from where a couple pushing their 6-week-old baby in a stroller were robbed at knifepoint on Aug. 19.

The family was in the 1400 block of Corcoran Street after leaving brunch on 14th Street at about noon when police said two men with knives robbed them.
