14-year-old boy is latest arrested in connection with brutal beating outside Washington Hilton hotel in Dupont Circle, police say

Surveillance video footage released by police shows the attack outside of the Washington Hilton in Dupont Circle during the early morning hours of Sunday, July 14.

Authorities say they have arrested and charged a 14-year-old boy in connection with a brutal assault that happened this summer outside of a Washington, D.C. hotel. The teen was arrested on Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault. He is the fifth person to be arrested and charged in connection with the attack.

Surveillance video footage released by police shows the attack outside of the Washington Hilton in Dupont Circle during the early morning hours of Sunday, July 14. Images show the two victims being surrounded while walking toward the doors of the hotel. One of the victims was able to get inside of the lobby while the other victim was punched and pushed to the ground after being swarmed by several of the attackers.

On August 13, 18-year-old Antoin Whitehead of Southeast, D.C. and a 17 year-old juvenile male of Northeast, D.C. were arrested for their alleged roles in the attack. Both face aggravated assault charges

On August 1, a 15-year-old juvenile female was arrested and charged with simple assault. On July 26, officers arrested a 17-year-old male and charged him with aggravated assault.
