Maryland man dead after vehicle crashes into Potomac River
ARLINGTON, Va. - Authorities say one person is dead after a vehicle they were in plunged into the Potomac River Thursday night in Virginia.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on the George Washington Memorial Parkway near the Humpback Bridge.
Officials say two people were pulled from the vehicle. One person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The other person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police later identified the victim as Kelvin Gunn, 59, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
The crash remains under investigation.
