Flood Warning issued for parts of DC region

WASHINGTON - The D.C. region was hit hard by another round of severe thunderstorms Tuesday as several roads experienced flooding and several water rescues had to be made.

Ritchie Marlboro Road in Capitol Heights, Maryland was closed off due to high water while Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Arlington, Virginia encountered flash flooding as well. Officials also reported a couple had to be rescued from their vehicle after getting stranded in Vienna, Virginia.

A Flood Warning has been issued until 1:15 a.m. Wednesday for Fairfax County, Prince William County, the City of Fairfax and the City of Manassas Park in Virginia.

The National Weather Service has also issued a Flood Warning for Carroll County, Howard County, Montgomery County, Harford County, Frederick County and Baltimore County until 3:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Berkeley County Schools in West Virginia will open on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday due to flooding, the school district announced.
