Dulles hits record snowfall, doubling previous record set in 1964
WASHINGTON - Dulles has hit record snowfall for March 21, according to the The National Weather Service, as a snowstorm continues through the D.C. area.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Dulles reached 4.7 inches of snow, which is double the record of 2.3 inches set in 1964.
In Maryland, Bloomfield in Frederick County reached 13.1 inches of snow, Columbia in Howard County reached 6.5 inches, Norbeck in Montgomery County reached 5.2 inches, and Cheltenham in Prince George's County reached 6 inches.
In Virginia, Free Union in Albermarle County reached 5 inches of snow, Herndon in Fairfax County reached 5.3 inches, Greenwich in Fauquier County reached 2.5 inches, Lovettsville in Loudoun County reached 7 inches, and Independent Hill in Prince William County reached 3.7 inches.
