Nationals ‘superfan’ to celebrate World Series by shaving 7-year-old championship beard
WASHINGTON - In 2012, a Washington Nationals “superfan” vowed to grow his beard until the team won the World Series – and now it’s time to pay up.
The event will be free, but any donations will go to the Nats Youth Baseball Academy.
Chris Charron of Hell’s Bottom – the brother of former Nationals shortstop Ian Desmond – will be the guest shaver for William ‘BJ’ Treuting.

To say William BJ Treuting is a Washington Nationals 'super fan' is an understatement. Treuting, a long-time season-ticket holder and supporter of the team, has been growing out his beard for the last seven years, pledging only to cut it if his is favorite team won it all.
The event will be held at the Salt Line at 79 Potomac Avenue, Southeast – outside of the first base gate at Nationals Park.
The event is open to the public.
