Capitals recall Smith-Pelly for playoff run
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - After losing two straight playoff games to Carolina, the Washington Capitals are recalling Devante Smith-Pelly from the Hershey Bears.
During the 2018 Stanley Cup run, Smith-Pelly tied for fourth on the Capitals' squad goals with seven. He also scored in three straight games in the Stanley Cup finals against Vegas.
The 26-year-old forward has eight points for the Capitals this season, and 14 in 20 games with Hershey.
Washington is also re-assigning Vitek Vanecek to Hershey.
The defending Stanley Cup champions are currently tied 2-2 in their playoff series against Carolina.
The Capitals return to D.C. Saturday night for game five in the series.
