SPONSORED: Mission Moments: Maura and Meaghan Kilner discuss battle against Hodgkin lymphoma

FOX 5 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Mission Moments brought to you by WAWA

“When we walk, cancer runs” is the motivating theme for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walks. Supporters and survivors are walking again this year to raise money and awareness to fight blood cancers. LLS is the largest non-profit funder of cutting-edge research to advance cures.

To help people understand the importance of the LLS mission FOX 5, WaWa, and the WaWa Foundation are sharing this Mission Moments podcast. With interviews from cancer survivors, their families, people who are in the fight and information on research, we are hoping you will learn more about blood cancers and how those are working towards cures for everyone.

Maura and Meaghan Kilner are a mother-daughter duo who have continued to champion the LLS cause after experiencing the devastating effects of the disease first hand. Meaghan, a high school senior now, was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma when she was 15 years old. She battled the disease only for it to come back a second time.

“After having a few choice words with the man upstairs, we began the fight again,” Maura said.

This time they were armed with a new weapon. Listen to their episode of Mission Moments below. For more information on how you can help www.lightthenight.org.
