Woman wanted in Sterling shooting taken into custody

Authorities have located a woman wanted for shooting a man in a domestic-related dispute at a house in Sterling early Thursday morning.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday afternoon that 23-year-old Emily King was taken into custody at a Nokesville grocery store in in Prince William County.

The sheriff's office said King reportedly shot the victim during an altercation in the 400 block of E. Dartmouth Drive shortly after 3 a.m. King fled the area after the shooting.

The shooting victim was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The 23-year-old King has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. She is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
