Woman struck by vehicle in Centreville

CENTREVILLE, Va. - A woman has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Centreville.

The accident happened around 6 a.m. on northbound Lee Highway near Centrewood Drive. Officers closed northbound Lee Highway between Centrewood Drive and Trinity parkway for several hours. All lanes reopened around 8:30 a.m.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Police say the driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene.
