Woman shot by D.C. police officer

WASHINGTON - The shooting happened near 53rd Street NE and Clay Terrace NE. The incident was captured on video by witnesses. Police say the woman repeatedly ignored commands to drop the knife she was carrying as she approached the officer, who eventually shot her.

Nettles is charged with assault on a police officer, assault with a deadly weapon, and arson.
