Woman killed in hit-and-run in Prince George's County, police say
PRINCE GEOREGE'S CO., Md. - Prince George’s County Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that happened in Oxon Hill Wednesday.
Officers responded to the area of Saint Barnabas Road and the Capital Beltway for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian at approximately 6:10 a.m.
When they arrived, police found a woman suffering serious trauma in the roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the driver hit the victim as she was walking in the westbound lanes of Saint Barnabas Road.
The driver did not remain on scene but detectives were later able to identify the driver and locate the striking vehicle in this incident.
Police have not announced an arrest at this time.
