Woman killed, 4 others hospitalized in overnight shootings
FORESTVILLE, Md. - A 49-year-old woman has died and four other people were hospitalized after an overnight shooting in Prince George's County. The shooting happened just before 2:30 a.m. in the 6600 block of Hil Mar Drive in Forestville.
Police said at around 1:25 a.m. Tuesday, officers were to the shooting scene and found Joanne Woods of District Heights suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two of the four other wounded victims are still in the hospital while the other two have been released. None of their injuries are considered life-threatening.
Investigators said the victims were standing outside when they were shot by a suspect in a car, which then sped away from the area. Detectives do not believe this was a random act.
Police said a $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
