Woman shot in head, killed in DC was targeted by her attacker, police say

WASHINGTON - A woman who was shot in the head and killed early Tuesday morning in northwest D.C. was targeted by her attacker, police say.

The shooting was reported around 1 a.m. in the 1400 block of Fairmont Street.

D.C. Mayor Bowser is planning to testify and defend the District’s fight against crime as crisis continues.

Investigators were only able to say the suspected shooter was wearing a blue shirt and gray sweatpants.

The investigation is continuing at this time.
