WATCH: A homeless shelter in Boston is teaching its teenage girls how to code

LOS ANGELES, CA - A homeless shelter in Boston has decided to empower its teenage girls in an unprecedented way, by teaching them how to code. Over the past year, a dozen girls have been taking coding classes one night a week in the basement of Brookview House, a homeless shelter in the Dorchester Center in Boston.

There the girls, ranging in ages 13-18, learn how to code small programs, apps, and even video games in Scratch and Python.
