Virginia pastor charged after allegedly sending explicit images to Pa. teen

ALEXANDRIA, VA. - A Northern Virginia pastor is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after Pennsylvania State Police accused him of sending explicit photos to a teenage boy over the course of a year.

What we know:

Kenny Baldwin, 47, the pastor of Crossroads Baptist Church in Bailey's Crossroads, was arraigned in a Pennsylvania courtroom this week on charges including unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and indecent exposure.

According to court documents, Baldwin met the boy, now 17, when he traveled to the teen's church in York, Pennsylvania, to give a sermon roughly 18 months ago. The boy was 15 at the time. Investigators say the two exchanged phone numbers during that visit.

According to the criminal complaint, the teen told a Pennsylvania state trooper that Baldwin spoke with him about masculinity and then began sending him explicit photos of himself multiple times a week for about a year, starting around November 2024. The trooper wrote that the teen reported receiving the images again as recently as early June of this year. The trooper said in the complaint that some of the images have been preserved as evidence. 

What they're saying:

Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release that they have reason to believe Baldwin shared explicit images with other juveniles as well. That aspect of the investigation appears to be ongoing, and no additional charges related to it have been announced.

FOX 5 D.C. attempted to reach Baldwin for comment but has not heard back. No one at Crossroads Baptist Church would speak on camera about the case.

In a written statement, the church said: "Please keep our ministry in your prayers as we seek to faithfully follow God's leading. Your prayers mean so much to us."

What's next:

Baldwin was released following his arraignment and is due back in court next month. No plea has been entered.
