VIDEO: Armed man robs customer at ATM

Police in Prince George's County are asking the public for help finding a robbery suspect. He robbed a man who was using a drive-thru ATM in Upper Marlboro and it was all caught on camera.

Prince George's County police posted the surveillance video online, which shows the suspect rushing up to the car as the driver was using the ATM. He threatens the victim with a gun. The clearly terrified man opens the door and the suspect robs him. The suspect then takes off.

The victim was not physically hurt.

"This is just a very brazen crime to be this bold and to commit this type of armed robbery in broad daylight," said Prince George's County Cpl. Nicole Hubbard. "You just cannot account for what a suspect is thinking, what a criminal is thinking. You can't predict that type of behavior."

It happened just after 2 p.m. on June 17 in the 1000 block of Largo Center Drive.

Police won't say exactly how much the suspect made off with, but he took off running in the direction of Arena Drive.

Investigators want the public to take a close look at the video. They zoomed in on a smiley face tattoo on the suspect's right arm.

"We're hoping someone will see this video, recognize the tattoo, recognize the suspect and please give us a call," said Cpl. Hubbard.

Detectives are looking into whether this suspect may be linked to any other recent crimes.
