United flight requests medical help for passengers at Dulles

CHANTILLY, Va. (AP) -- A United Airlines flight requested medical assistance at Washington Dulles International Airport for three passengers after the plane encountered turbulence.

Airport officials say United Airlines flight 1597 from San Juan, Puerto Rico, reported three people needed medical help Saturday. Emergency medical personnel responded to the plane. It was not clear how severe the passengers' injuries were.

An airport officials also says United Airlines flight 1774 from San Francisco also requested medical assistance due to turbulence. But that request was canceled after passengers said they were fine.

Airport officials say flight operations will resume as normal.
