Traffic gridlock stretches across 26 lanes of highway in India

Unbelievable pictures show traffic gridlock along a 26-lane span of highway in India, according to an online report on The DailyMail.

The images posted to Twitter show an area of National Highway 8 where toll plazas once stood. According to the article, the toll booths were dismantled in an attempt to relieve congestion, however, the decision has caused bottlenecks across the expressway.

Anil Sood, founder of 'Society for Protection of Culture, Heritage, Environment, Traditions and Promotion of National Awareness.' Pposted the images along with the captions - 'Corruption, inefficiency, robbery, fleecing of Commuters colossal national waste of precious FE man hours - NH8 GGN.'
