Teen hit by tour bus near MLK Memorial in DC dies from injuries almost week later
WASHINGTON - A teen who was struck and pinned under a tour bus near the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in the District on March 9 died on Thursday, according to officials.
The boy was hit by the bus at about 6:50 p.m. in the 1900 block of Independence Avenue in Southwest D.C.
The teen was flown to Children's National Medical Center and later succumbed to his injuries, according to the U.S. Park Police.
"This is a tragic incident for everyone involved and our hearts go out to his family in their time of grief," U.S. Park Police said in a written release.
Authorities said the cause of the crash remained under investigation.
