Teen finds chicken organ in KFC lunch

A California teenager said he got "grossed out" after discovering what he thought was a chicken brain in his KFC order.

"I ended up spitting it in the trash can because I get grossed out by that," Manuel Cobarubies, a Stockton High School student, told Fox40 about the mystery organ that was tucked in alongside his chicken breast, thighs and corn.

"(It looked) like a brain to me. I mean at that point, red flags were kind of raised," he said.

Cobarubies took to Twitter to complain to KFC about his discovery and asked for his money back.

He got an apology but no refund. He then got in contact with the Fox station, resulting in a call from Richard Romas, a KFC area consultant. That's when he got his refund.

Ramos said the "brain" was a kidney or gizzard that ended up in Cobarubies' order and that the restaurant will be working with cooks to make sure they prepare the chicken correctly.

"Just because I do eat there often so I mean coming across something like that is just like wow," said Cobarubies.
