Teen charged with murder in fatal shooting of Sterling teen

Authorities have three suspects in custody in connection with a shooting that killed a 17-year-old boy and put seven schools in the Sterling area on high alert Friday.

The shooting happened around 8:30 a.m. in a townhouse community at E. Cornell Drive and N. Duke Drive, which is an intersection where students often wait for the school bus.

The victim, Danny Centeno-Miranda, lived nearby and attended Park View High School. He was rushed to Inova Fairfax Hospital and later died.

Authorities say the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office worked throughout the day on September 4th and overnight conducting numerous interviews and following up on all leads. Detectives were able to identify and arrest three suspects, a 17-year-old male, an 18-year-old male and 20-year-old male.

As a result of the shooting, six schools were placed on lockout and the victim's high school, Park View, was placed on lockdown.
