Teacher charged with child molestation

A middle Georgia community is reeling after a teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy. Jennifer Robinson was arrested Monday after someone at Upson-Lee South Elementary School said they saw inappropriate messages on her Facebook page on Robinson's work computer.

The 47-year-old was off Monday, but Upson County Sheriff Dan Kilgore said she had apparently left her computer on. Kilgore said Robinson and the middle school student had at least five sexual encounters during the eight-month relationship.

Kilgore said two of the meetings were at the elementary school. He said one took place in her Kindergarten classroom during the summer months when school was out. Kilgore said the two also had sexual relations in a car parked on the playground. Robinson is charged with five counts of aggravated child molestation and five counts of child molestation.

Kilgore said the wife and mother confessed to authorities when she was confronted. Robinson remains in the Upson County Jail. She resigned Wednesday after 17 years on the job.
