Suspicious package prompts White House lockdown

UPDATE (2:47 P.M.): The Secret Service has given an all clear signal that the lockdown is over after about an hour.

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - The White House is currently on lockdown as Secret Service agents investigate a suspicious package outside.

The Secret Service directed White House press off the North Lawn and into the briefing room as agents investigate the package on Pennsylvania Avenue.

The sidewalk outside the White House and Lafayette Park remain closed.

A FOX News reporter at the White House reports that lockdowns are not an unusual occurence, and Secret Service agents outside the White House are seemingly acting normally, and even texting.
