Strasburg Police Department accepts canned food items as parking ticket payment

STRASBURG, Va. - If you're a parking violator with a packed pantry, you are totally set in Strasburg, Virginia from now until December 31, 2016.

That's because the Strasburg Police Department is going to let you pay off your parking tickets with canned food items between Sept. 12 and Dec. 31, 2016.

Ten canned food items will cover the cost of your parking ticket! The canned food will be donated to the Compassion Cupboard of Strasburg.

Those of you who do not have a parking ticket but would still like to donate, the Strasburg Police Department says to bring any donations to the Compassion Cupboard and SPD will transport it.
