Special Olympics Maryland holds annual Super Plunge at Sandy Point
SANDY POINT STATE PARK, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - Special Olympics Maryland athletes are holding their annual Super Plunge at Sandy Point State Park.
The brave plungers will jump into the frigid Chesapeake Bay 24 times over the next 24 hours to raise money for the nearly 8000 Special Olympics athletes who train and compete all across Maryland.
The Super Plunge kicks off events that last into next weekend when more than 10,000 plungers will brave the water for the annual MSP Polar Bear Plunge.
