Shooting reported in Springfield area of Fairfax County

SPRINGFIELD, Va. (FOX 5 DC) - Police say a man was shot in Fairfax County Thursday morning. Detectives responded to the 7000 block of Hooes Road in Springfield around 10 a.m. Officers say a man was rushed to the hospital.

Investigators the shooting appeared to be domestic in nature and believe the suspect and victim knew each other.

A person of interest was taken into custody, according to police.
