Season of Wishes: Heather, 5, receives dream playhouse thanks to Make-A-Wish
DELMAR, DE - We want to introduce you to a beautiful 5-year-old girl from Delmar, Delaware who suffers from a congenital cardiac condition.
This condition doesn't stop brave Heather from doing the things that she loves, which includes playing outside and spending time with her family. One day, Heather was playing on a playset at her aunt's house and she fell in love with it. That's why when Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic came to Heather to see what wish she would like granted, she knew exactly what she wanted - her own back yard playhouse!
Thanks to Make-A-Wish, Heathers dream has come true! Her house is pink and came stocked with her very own play kitchen furniture, and it also has a second floor loft which gives Heather and her sisters all the space they need to play in there together!
Heather's wish gives her the chance to do what she loves and forget about her battle with her medical condition.
FOX 5 DC Cares is our station's campaign to highlight the work of charitable organizations and non-profits in our community. We hope by partnering with these groups, we can help them get their message out and reach their goals.
