Russian River passes flood stage, residents urged to evacuate

The Russian River passed flood stage overnight and those living nearby were urged to evacuate.

The water level is not expected to return to below flood stage until 10 p.m. Friday. A flood warning has been issued through Saturday.

In Guerneville, flooding was apparent, but residents weren't too worried. The flood stage is 32 feet, and by 4 a.m., the water was at 34 feet. Bruce McDonald decided to make the most of the water and canoe down Neelly Road.
