Reward offered for ID of man who left severely injured dog in Northeast DC

The Humane Rescue Alliance is offering a reward for a man who they believe abandoned a severely injured dog outside of a business in Northeast D.C.

The HRA says it is offering $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man, who can be seen striking in the dog in surveillance video recovered from a camera outside Skip's Liquor Store and Laundromat.

They say the dog had significant injuries to all four legs, and in the video the man can be seen dragging her away from a vehicle before driving off.

"The depth and severity of this dog's exposed wounds strongly suggests that she endured extraordinary pain," said Chris Schindler, Vice President of Field Services at HRA. "HRA is determined to bring her abuser to justice and we hope this reward will motivate any witnesses or others with information about this crime to come forward immediately."

The HRA says the vehicle in the video appears to be a Red Cadillac CTS, model year possibly between 2003 -2007.
