Report of arcing insulator near Medical Center Metro Station

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. - Firefighters and Metro maintenance crews are responding to a report of an arcing insulator from the Red Line tracks near the Medical Center station, according to Metro and the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.

Firefighters arrived on the scene around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and investigated smoke in the station, tunnel, no smoke seen upon arrival, according to MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer.

Metro is Single tracking on the Red Line service between the Grosvenor and Medical Center stations at about 12:40 p.m., according to Metro's PIO.
