Replica of French tall ship docks in Alexandria

An exact replica of the tall ship that brought the French to Washington with news of aid during the American Revolution has docked in Alexandria.

The Hermione sailed 3,819 miles across the Atlantic from France.

The journey to the U.S. was made to commemorate the Marquis de Lafayette's voyage – one that helped turn the tide of the war.

The Hermione will be docked in Alexandria June 10, 11 and 12.
