Prince William County middle school student arrested for bringing unloaded gun to school

A middle school student is facing charges in Prince William County after police said he brought an unloaded gun onto school property Friday morning.

Police said the gun was found inside the student's locker at Graham Park Middle School located near the Quantico Marine Base. Authorities said a student alerted officials after seeing the gun.

Officials said the gun was unloaded and they did not find any ammunition. Investigators said it appeared the student didn't have plans to use the gun but brought it on school property to show it off.

The student was taken into custody and will likely face juvenile charges of taking a firearm onto school grounds.

Authorities said it was unclear who owned the gun or where it came from. They would not release the make, model or caliber of the weapon.
