Prince George's County officials investigate possible police impersonator
TEMPLE HILLS, Md. - Imagine getting pulled over by someone who you thought was a cop -- and then being physically assaulted. That is exactly what a Prince George's County woman says happened to her.
Officials are investigating whether or not someone out on the streets is impersonating police. Police have received Christina Gaddis's report and now have an open regional investigation into the situation.
"He grabbed me by my Walmart vest and uniform shirt and slammed me on his car a couple times and then he threw me on the ground." Gaddis explained. "He said you little black b's make me sick."
Gaddis said alarm bells started to go off in her head as soon as she got out of the car, because for starters he never looked up her information after taking her license.
"I looked back and I saw that his badge was gone and I knew I was in trouble because he wouldn't take off his badge if he was an official cop," Gaddis said.
The Prince George's County Police department says they found no record of one of their officers pulling Gaddis over along old Branch Avenue Monday night. She describes the aggressor who was driving in a Grand Marquis as a Caucasian man, about 6'3, 250 pounds with a bald head and a tattoo of a skull on his neck.
We are waiting to hear if officials can confirm there's an impersonator out there and if they release a sketch of the suspect.
