New details in Capitol Heights shooting
Law enforcement sources are providing more details after a teen was shot in Capitol Heights on Wednesday.
CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. - Prince George’s County police say a teenage victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after a shooting in Capitol Heights on Wednesday.
Law enforcement sources told FOX 5's Evan Lambert that multiple gunmen opened fire at the location on Cindy Lane - and at least one was armed with a long gun.
A witness says children were sent scattering from an ice cream truck, as more than 30 shots rang out from a vehicle into an apartment complex parking lot.
"It was nice day - hot, sunny. Trying to get some ice cream. Shooting started. Some kids hit the deck, some kids tried to run. Some kids picked up smaller children and tried to run," a neighbor, Micah Ridley, said.

One witness told FOX 5:
"A Black, car, SUV came around very quickly into the parking lot. Out came about three to four men in black clad clothing. Started opening fire on a general group of people around a white car in that parking lot. It was a very traumatizing experience, rattled me as I was on the second floor window. Had a clearish view but for my own safety I hit the floor as soon as I got my little peek."

A law enforcement source told FOX 5 that they're looking for a connection between Wednesday's shooting, and a double shooting at a gas station that killed 23-year-old Phajia Hutchinson.
