Portion of George Washington Parkway closed after bus fire

A stretch of northbound George Washington Parkway has been closed after a bus fire leaked fuel onto the roadway.

The accident happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday. Crews say the leaked fuel caused other vehicles to spin out.

To get around the closure you can use Key Bridge to Canal Road and head up Clara Barton Parkway or use Spout Run Parkway where traffic is ultimately diverted.

Authorities have no estimated time of reopening.
