Police: Va. man fatally shot two German Shepherds
NOKESVILLE, Va. (FOX 5 DC) - A Virginia man is facing charges after police say he fatally shot two German Shepherds.
On November 8, 5-month-old "Zoey" was found shot dead in a wooded area in the 10700 block of Lonesome Road in Nokesville. The second dog, 9-year-old "Maddie," was found dead the next day.
The owner of the dogs initially reported them missing on November 6.
During the investigation, police identified a suspect, 65-year-old Charles Lee Peele III, who was arrested on December 1.
He is charged with two counts of felony animal cruelty and two counts of reckless handling of a firearm.
Peele is due in court on January 13.
