A suspect is still on the run after allegedly stealing an unmarked police cruiser during an early morning pursuit in which officers were almost seriously injured.

The incident happened around 1 a.m. when U.S. Park Police officers pulled over a driver on southbound George Washington Memorial Parkway near Route 123.

As the officers approached the vehicle, the driver sped away, striking them both with the mirror of the car.

After a short pursuit, the driver of the car crashed the vehicle and fled.
